We know how much thought and care goes into making every decision for your wedding day. Each decision impacts the next. The date and season in which you are getting married naturally influence your attire and wedding colors. The colors then become the focal point of your bouquet, the bridesmaids dresses, invitation suite, reception decor, and much more.
As photographers we love helping you remember each of those details and preserve them for your future generations. Have you ever looked back at your parents or grandparents wedding pictures while thinking about how the styles changed through the years for better or worse? We want to give the couples we serve (like you!) a tangible way to do the same for your future family.
This is why we’re so excited to offer our couples complimentary Wedding Detail Days to local couples!
what to bring
- Full Invitation Suite (eg. Invite, RSVP card, reception details) & bring 2 copies of each!
- Envelopes for invitation suite (some blank and some addressed)
- Wedding & Engagement Rings (for both the bride and groom)
- Bride’s Shoes
- Bride’s Jewelry
- Bride’s Veil (especially if it has a decorative trim)
- Groom’s Shoes
- Groom’s Tie
- Groom’s Cuff Links
- Ring Box (or other monogrammed items)
- Religious items (eg. Rosary)
- …and any additional accessories, paper goods (custom wedding program/menu/etc.), or items you would like to be photographed.
Then on the wedding day, it’s just down to photographing the wedding dress, veil, any fresh flowers and the memories surrounding you hanging out with your wedding party!

ENHANCE YOUR DETAILS
Add an extra romantic flair to your wedding details and weave in your wedding colors even more intentionally with the following enhancements. We have a limited selection of neutral items that we keep on hand. To ensure your enhancements are personalized to your wedding day and color palette, we encourage you to purchase and bring any items you want to incorporate with you to the Detail Day.
FLOWERS
Flowers REALLY make your images pop, especially fresh ones if you can. If you have specialized flowers you may want to ask your florist to provide you with a few loose blooms and greenery that you can bring along to detail day!
RIBBON
Ribbons give you a chance to incorporate your wedding color palette into the images in a soft, subtle way. An imperfect edge photographs best!
RING BOX or dish
You may want to invest in a special ring box or dish that includes your new monogrammed initials as an heirloom item. Shop the following sites for our recommendations:
wax seals
A wax seal gives an elegant and vintage touch! Etsy shops have a lot of options for choosing the perfect wax seal design. Our favorite shop Pieta Paperie has Catholic ones you can incorporate too like an Auspice Maria symbol or the Sacred & Immaculate hearts!
envelopes designs
There is truly something wonderful about seeing your name written in beautiful calligraphy! Addressing a few of the envelopes you bring will give it a more realistic touch! If you have any envelopes with your wedding color instead of white that is a huge bonus!
veil
Bring your veil (especially if it has a decorative trim) which can bring another delicate element to the background of detail pictures!
WHEN SHOULD I DROP OFF?
We recommend dropping your details off the night before the Detail Day event takes place. If you need to drop them off on Detail Day before work, please bring them by no later than 8:30 a.m. Morning provides the best light in our house and we want to make sure we can take full advantage of it!

WHEN SHOULD I PICK UP?
You're welcome to pick up your items any time after 5pm on the Detail Day. If you need to grab them on a different day, just let us know and we'll hold them for you.

We're located in Saint Paul, MN. Actual address will be provided after signing up for detail day using the link below.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK A DETAIL DAY?
Detail Days work best when you have all of your wedding details compiled. This includes having your wedding bands in hand and accessories picked out. Most couples will sign up for a date that is within 1 month of their wedding but you can of course do it earlier if you have your details prepared.
WHAT WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHED ON THE WEDDING DAY ITSELF?
I always reserve capturing pictures of your wedding dress hanging for the wedding day itself and any items that aren't often available until the wedding day, such as a wedding bouquet with fresh flowers. For those who don't participate in Detail Days due to distance or logistics, we ask for a solid 30-45 minutes dedicated just to detail pictures in your getting ready schedule to capture these items on the wedding day itself.
