Every toast for Susanna and Brad on their wedding day was a testimony to the rich, sacrificial love they share for one another.
It started with the father of the groom. He began sharing with us all his lifelong prayer for this day. In particular, he prayed for the woman that his son would one day marry. As it turns out, he wasn’t the only one. When the father of the bride stood up to the microphone, he too shared that he prayed for his daughter’s future spouse. They agreed that this wedding day marked the answer to their prayers and exclaimed, “it can only be described as a match made in heaven!”
Continuing the heartfelt toasts, Susanna’s sister sweetly added in her matron of honor speech that Brad has felt like a part of the family in sentiment for quite a while and that they’re excited to welcome him into the family now in the Catholic sacrament of marriage.
Lastly, Brad’s brother then took the microphone for his best man’s speech and shared a memory from his childhood about playing sports with his older brother. He recalled on his own reflection that he often played out of competition. The point of the game was to win, what more could there be? One particular game, he recalled the words that Brad said to him after a defeat. The groom in his wisdom said that playing these sports wasn’t simply about trying to beat another, it was about giving glory to God in the gifts He has given us. Without a doubt, Brad has oriented what he does to serving God. The best man noted that this would be true in their marriage. Brad would always fiercely fight for their marriage with the same rigor he put into his sportsmanship and in doing so he would always glorify God by keeping their marriage at the center.
We can’t wait to see the good works the Lord does in their lives and marriage and are cheering them on through the lifetime of love ahead!
