After months of staying at home for the pandemic, we were so excited to get back outside and start doing photoshoots again. Getting to celebrate Johanna graduate from high school was the perfect way to kick it off! She’s the sweetest soul and beautiful through and through. I am also low key obsessed with her natural curly hair.
Senior year was not what she expected it to be with everything moving online, but found a lot of joy in the extra time she got to spend at home with her younger brothers before she leaves for college. After graduating from St. Agnes High School, she is headed down to Winona State University in the fall to study Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology.
I had never heard of that field before and was eager to hear how she envisions applying that degree in the future. She shared her hopes to work with people in a setting like the VA, using recreation interventions for psychological and physical interventions. Apparently Winona ranks 13th in the nation for that major, combining several fields into one. I am in awe at her heart for meaningful work that impacts the lives of others, especially veterans.
We couldn’t have picked a more beautiful summer day than this one to go to Irvine Park, tucked away off West 7th from downtown Saint Paul. Jo arrived in a striped navy romper that was as comfortable as it was stylish. Paired with some flirty beige heels that she absolutely rocked. She picked a second outfit for a more casual look in the second half of the session that included a diamond patterned blouse, ripped jeans, and light brown ankle boots that altogether was super cute!
Seeing the light that shines within Jo, hearing her plans for the future, and smiling the whole night away brought so much life and hope back after a spring that was shadowed in fear. We can’t wait to see the woman she becomes through the year and are so excited for the adventures ahead.
Congrats on graduating, Jo!
