Celebrate life’s milestones even in a pandemic!
It takes years of studying, research, class, exams, clinicals and boards to earn a doctorate degree. Yet when you are finally done and get the happy news that you passed your boards, it is easy (a little too easy) for that big milestone to get overlooked by the bigger things going in the world. In some ways even feel a bit anticlimactic for the amount of hard work that went into all.
Graduation day came around while we were all under stay at home orders. Cohorts jumped on Zoom calls, but without the same pomp and circumstance.
This pandemic and season of life certainly made it clear how important having things to look forward to in life really is. It also reinforced how much we crave sharing these moments with others we love or were in the academic trenches with.
I love that Kara didn’t let negativity stand in her way from celebrating the hard work she put into chasing her dream. In fact, going back to St. Kate‘s where she earned her degree made it all the more real. She kept saying how much it brought her closure, gratitude, and joy.
We’re so proud of all the hard work you put into reaching this moment, Kara and can’t wait to see the incredible things you do next loving and serving others with this degree! Congrats!
