Hey!

we're katzie and ben

get to know us

Let’s talk about wedding anniversaries for a moment!

Besides making dinner reservations, buying a gift, looking through our wedding album, or making a social media post with wedding image throwbacks… I want to share a little tradition that has become an unexpected highlight of our own celebrations each year.

Pray with the scripture readings from your Wedding Mass!

There are very few times in your life that you get to plan a liturgy for yourself! Your wedding is one of them. The scripture readings you chose weren’t random. You chose them because something in the scriptures spoke to the hopes you have for your marriage and the kind of life you’re dreaming of building together as husband and wife.

Each year of marriage, go back and re-read those inspired words of God and you may just find that they’ll continue to inspire you.

This is what they’ve done for us! On our anniversary night, Ben and I curl up on the couch with our bible and a copy of our wedding program to find the passages and pray through them again.

The coolest part? The words haven’t changed, but we have.

Each year we find ourselves uncovering new ways that the Lord is speaking to us through His word.

It brings a new insight.

A new mindset.

Another chance to notice and recognize God’s presence within our marriage.

An opportunity to praise Him for the prayers He has answered along the way.

If you do this (or start to!) let us know! We love sharing in traditions together with others and hearing about the ways the Lord has been speaking to YOU! Comment below which readings you chose for your wedding and how they’ve taken on new meaning to you over the years.
