Hey!

we're katzie and ben

get to know us

We love getting to know other Catholic wedding vendors. Over the past few years we’ve seen incredible work come from Pieta Paperie, a stationary company that offers Catholic couples across the country with invitation suites, signs, and accessories that witness to the faith, that we wanted to do a full highlight of their shop for other couples to use!

Invitation Suite & Save the Dates

As Catholics we believe that beauty is a way that we encounter the divine, so it is well worth investing in making your wedding day beautiful down to the last detail. Your invitations suite gives your guests a preview of what to expect on the wedding day. In addition to including the practical logistics like the wedding date, time, and locations, it can also be a way to witness the important role that your faith plays in your life and relationship to your guests. It gives you an opportunity to show them that you are excited to be celebrating your marriage as a sacrament and that you’re entrusting your marriage to God’s grace and providence. As a bonus, you can also invite them to pray for you as you prepare for marriage!

We love seeing couples incorporate design elements that reflect a special element of the day or their favorite saints. You can really be creative and infuse your personality into the invitation suite! Some ideas that we’ve seen incorporated in the past:

  • Feast day that you’re getting married on
  • Patron of the parish where your nuptial mass will be held
  • Outline of the church where you’ll be married
  • Another devotion you have (Sacred heart of Jesus, Divine Mercy, etc.)
  • Marian elements (Auspice Maria, Immaculate Heart, Miraculous Medal, etc.)

The invitation card also becomes the backdrop for detail photos the morning of your wedding, especially when photographers do those iconic close up photos of your wedding rings! Consider any phrases that you want to stand out. Our favorite is when we can line all three rings up next to text that says “the sacrament of holy matrimony” which is one of our favorite photo keepsakes for couples!

Wax Seals

There is something extra elegant about the use of a wax seal with a wedding invitation. It enhances the whole experience of receiving the wedding invitation in the mail and gives it a romantic flair. We love how Pieta Paperie includes a wide variety of Marian symbols, and several others such as the St. Benedict medal, the sacred and immaculate hearts, and even text that says Totus Tuus.

If you do purchase wax seals, be sure to save a few extra standalone seals for your photographer to use with the rest of your detail photos!

There are some different processes that you will need to do when sending mail through the post office that has a wax seal on the outside. It’s important to remember that the envelope needs to be fully sealed on its own and the wax seal used just as a decorative embellishment. There may be additional postage needed depending on the weight of your invitations because of it and you’ll want to look into having your invitations mailed which is an additional $0.20-0.30 in a process called hand-cancelling so that a person manually processes each piece of mail instead of a machine – which could risk the wax seal coming off the envelope! One way around this is to consider assembling your wedding invitation suite into an envelope, sealing that with a wax seal, and then placing the whole suite into a second slightly larger envelope for the actual mailing it comes to mailing it — otherwise you may be looking at extra costs

Prayer Cards

We’ve seen several couples choose to create prayer cards as their wedding favors to guests! Whether they’re distributed to each guest with their wedding program at the mass or later on the reception, it is a beautiful way to invite your guests to continue praying for your marriage beyond the wedding day itself.

Reception Signs

We love seeing how creative couples get when it comes to incorporating their faith into the wedding reception! You can choose to do something unique that is a standalone experience or choose to reuse elements from your wedding invitation into other signs and stationary that carries through an overall theme from start to end!

Pieta Paperie offers beautiful seating charts, welcome signs, and reception escort cards (place cards foro dinner). If you love the cohesiveness of having all the elements match from your invitation suite to the reception signs – you’re definitely going to want to view all the beautiful options they have!

We hope you love exploring Angela’s work at Pieta Paperie and that you’re inspired with creative ideas for incorporating spiritual elements and devotions that are important to the two of you into each touchpoint of your guest experience!
