where to start

Hey!

we're katzie and ben

get to know us

Oh my heart. These two cuties are married!!! Between Danny’s playfulness and Ashley’s overflowing joy – this day couldn’t have been more perfect or romantic. These lovebirds tied the knot at their alma mater adding another milestone to their time at St. Thomas.

Upon entering the getting room, each person was greeted with Ashley’s adorable hello squeal followed by the sweet sound of their name. She has an incredible way of making each person feel loved when they are in her presence. The house was packed full of Ashley’s glam squad – aka her sisters, her soon to be sister-in-laws, and her soul sister friends all gracefully gliding past one another to get ready for the day.

The guys on the other hand were embracing the low key prep time by throwing footballs, teaching one another to tie their ties, and recreating photos from their parent’s weddings. There is a long friendship between Danny’s dad and Luke’s (his best man). They whipped out a pair of jean shorts, plopped Luke’s leg up on a chair like good ol captain morgan, and Ben snapped the memory that mirrored the generation before them. We see a lot of traditions in our time as photographers but jean shorts was a first! The guys rocked it though.

Before Danny could see his bride, Ashley planned a special first look with her father. He patiently waited on the back porch, heard her steps approaching, and turned around with tear filled eyes at his little girl all grown up. He recalled in his toast at dinner how Ashley asked when she was a kid that her parents would pray with her for her future husband. It was this day as she was in her wedding dress that he knew their prayers were answered.

As the ceremony approached, the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas began to fill with friends and family alike. Fr. Becker jokingly noted during his homily that, “As many of you know, Ashley and Danny are quite shy.” I have never heard wedding guests ROAR with laughter the way that they did at that moment. We all understood that shy was the farthest descriptor from the truth; all one had to do was look around beside them to see over 300 cherished guests who filled the church pews from wall to wall in support of Ashley and Danny entering the sacrament of marriage.

Their outgoing personalities made every second together fun. During the wedding party photos, Danny creatively called the wedding party over to take pictures together by playing an epic game of red light green light. That energy continued onto the dance floor where everyone danced the night away to the musical stylings of Josh McClure of Harmony DJ.

We are so honored that we were there by your side on your wedding day. Thanks for inviting us in to capture your love. You left a huge impression on us through your witness of faith and joy. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for your marriage and will be cheering you two on every step of the way!
